- Carefully follow directions, both written and oral. If you are in doubt about any procedure, ask your teacher for help.
- Students will work individually on some experiments, while other experiments will be done cooperatively with partners or groups.
- Do not bother other groups or engage in horseplay such as tickling, throwing objects, squirting water, etc. Some serious lab accidents have resulted from this type of behavior. Misbehavior will result in your dismissal from the classroom and you may not be allowed to participate in future lab activities.
- Wear safety goggles when there is a chance something hazardous may get in your eyes. If ANY substance gets into your eyes please notify the teacher immediately.
- Keep your work area neat.
- Use sharp or pointed objects with care.
- Be cautious when working with heat, electricity, or chemicals.
- Do NOT eat or taste any substances or materials in the Science Lab.
- Be extremely careful with all glassware and make sure it is clean before and after each use.
- Before leaving, clean up your work area. Put away and clean all equipment and supplies. Dispose of all wastes as directed by the teacher.
- Report any broken or missing materials to the teacher at once.
